Arvind Kejriwal rules out electoral alliance with India Alliance in Delhi

NEW DELHI :Arvind Kejriwal denies electoral alliance with India Alliance in Delhi Rajiv Ranjan Nag New Delhi. Former Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal has ruled out any alliance with the Congress for the 2025 assembly elections in the national capital.

Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal announced in a press conference on Sunday that the Aam Aadmi Party will not have any alliance with anyone in the Delhi elections. This move is being seen as a big setback for the opposition party ‘India’, which was formed with the aim of ousting the BJP from power at the Center. Seeing the way the India Alliance has lost in the Haryana and Maharashtra elections, Arvind Kejriwal has decided to run his party on the path of Ekla Chalo. After all, why does the Aam Aadmi Party want to contest elections separately from the Congress despite being a part of the India Alliance? That too when both of them contested the Lok Sabha elections together.
In fact, Arvind Kejriwal is moving forward by taking lessons from the recent elections. He has seen the performance of the Congress in the Haryana elections and the Maharashtra assembly elections. Arvind Kejriwal has also seen the result of the alliance of Aam Aadmi Party with Congress in the Lok Sabha elections. According to party experts, Arvind Kejriwal does not see any benefit in allying with Congress. Also, he has the data of Delhi assembly elections in front of him, which shows the strength of Congress.
How much is the strength of Congress in Delhi
If you look at the data of the last three elections held in Delhi, you will understand why Arvind Kejriwal is avoiding alliance with Congress. Congress’s vote percentage has been continuously falling since the last three assembly elections. In the 2013 assembly elections held in Delhi, Congress had 25 percent vote share. In 2015, it came down to 10 percent. At the same time, in the 2020 assembly elections, the vote share of Congress has come down to 4.26 percent. If seen in this way, Congress is continuously getting weaker within Delhi. The strength of the hand is decreasing.
How much is the vote share of AAP and BJP
At the same time, the data of vote share of Aam Aadmi Party and BJP seems to indicate that the competition is between these two. The vote share of Aam Aadmi Party is more or less the same in the 2015 and 2020 elections. Aam Aadmi Party had a vote share of 29 percent in 2013, 54 percent in 2015 and 53.57 percent in 2020. On the other hand, if we talk about BJP, it had a vote share of 34 percent in 2013, 32 percent in 2015 and 38.51 percent in 2020. Assembly elections are due in Delhi early next year. Arvind Kejriwal’s party has also announced the names of candidates on many seats. However, the Election Commission has not yet announced the election bugle.
