Two lady teachers booked for assaulting 9-year-old student for tearing a book.

MAPUSA (GOA): Colvale (north goa) police have filed FIR against two lady teachers from Primary School at Camurlim for allegedly assaulting 9-year-old fourth standard student for tearing pages from his book. The boy studying in Class IV was allegedly assaulted for tearing pages from his notebook.
The boy sustained black and blue beating marks on his body on September 2 around 8.30 am in the primary school. According to Police sources said that when the boy told the teacher that the torn pages were scribbled upon, the English teacher took out a steel ruler and restrained him from moving.
The other teacher, who teaches mathematics and Marathi, assaulted the boy with the steel ruler on his hands, thighs, legs, back and chest. The teacher slapped the boy on his face and also kicked on the stomach. She caught hold of the student’s right ear and allegedly rubbed his face on the blackboard, causing bleeding and swelling on the body, the police said.
Acting tough on corporal punishment, the Colvale police on Tuesday booked two women teachers of a Camurlim-based private primary school for allegedly assaulting a nine-year-old boy and causing severe injuries. On Tuesday, the father lodged a complaint with the Colvale police, which registered an offence against the two teachers.
