Advanced technology aids surgeries
SANTA MARIA : Marian Regional Medical Center (MRMC), a member of Dignity Health which includes Arroyo Grande Community Hospital and French Hospital Medical Center, has announced the purchase of the technologically advanced O-Arm Surgical Imaging System. The Marian Foundation put $500,000 toward the investment through the generosity of community donors. The O-Arm will be used for spine, orthopedic and trauma-related surgeries.
This advanced equipment will provide real-time, two and three dimensional images of a patient’s anatomy to the surgeon and allows for precise and accurate decision-making in the operating room.
The Marian Foundation was established in 1982 for the sole purpose of securing philanthropic support for the healing mission of the Sisters of Saint Francis at Marian. The Foundation has since become a vital source of support for a variety of health care programs and services— many of which would not have been possible without the generous contributions of community partners.
“The Foundation’s ability to fund this new technology for the development of neuroscience programming at Marian is made possible through the generous support of the Santa Maria community,” said, Step-hanie Grogran, vice president of Philanthropy for the Marian Foundation.“The acquisition of the O-Arm technology is a great example of how community support continues to drive the advances in quality.
