Uncle The Great Shivpal Yadav gets ticket
LUCKNOW : Shivpal Yadav, in many ways the crux of the feud between Mulayam Singh and his son Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav is on the list of 191 candidates declared today by their Samajwadi Party. Uttar Pradesh has 403 seats. Interestingly, Akhilesh’s warring uncle, Shivpal Singh Yadav has been given an election ticket to contest from Jaswantnagar constituency.
The Samajwadi Party wants 300 of its members to contest the election which begins next month, with the balance being allotted to the Congress, with whom an alliance is expected to be announced today.
Samajwadi Party headed by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Friday released the first list of 192 candidates for the upcoming UP Assembly Elections 2017.
It was earlier reported that SP patron Mulayam had given a list of 38 candidates – which can’t be overlooked – to Akhilesh when the young Chief Minister came to seek his blessings on Tuesday.
Mulayam Singh was beaten on Monday in a battle of supremacy in the ruling SP by his son, as the Election Commission (EC) recognised Akhilesh Yadav as the national president of the party and allotted the party symbol of cycle to his faction.
