Babul Supriyo attacked with stone in Asansol,
ASANSOLE : Bharatiya Janata Party MP Babul Supriyo was injured in a stone-pelting incident by Trinamool Congress workers in West Bengal’s Asansol district on Wednesday.The singer-turned politician received minor injuries, when his convoy was allegedly attacked by Trinamool supporters.
Giving details about the incident, Supriyo tweeted: “Someone caught this moment on camera!!!!! That big a stone thrown from a distance-COWARDs! I don’t back off in front of goons of MalayGhatak.”
Reports said that the BJP leader’s convoy was stopped and attacked near Asansol’s BNR More. Supriyo is a Lok Sabha MP from Asansol.Two supporters of Supriyo were also injured in stone-pelting incident. TMC supporters also damaged Supriyo’s car.
Speaking to ‘Times Now’ news channel, the BJP MP said the TMC members might have attacked him when he and his supporters had gone to nab the people yesterday who were running an illegal slaughter house near a minister’s residence.
“We found out that these illegal slaughter houses had been running since a long time as the minister was being paid for their functioning,” Supriyo told the leading news channel.
