Hasina fears more terrorist attacks in B’desh
KOLKATA: As Prime Minister Begum Hasina senses isolation from voters and people, she and her political allies, fear more terrorist attacks in Bangladesh. Problem happens to be no voter and people would trust Awami League Government and yet help Government fight the terrorists,’’ admits a top political leader in Dhaka.
The issue isn’t so simple, the agenda would include a sound foreign policy, and developing a healthy democracy “so that voters and people are taken into responsibility with any political decision,’’ felt another political leader in Dhaka. If right decision was taken, then Government would not have been so late banning Peace TV run by Zakir Naik. Even Indian Government also reacted rather late like Hasina Government and allowed conspiracy by Naik,’’ he quickly added.
Incidentally, according to observers the political sickness ran rather too deep. As for example, when Hasina told people after terrorist attacks that they can go and tell people if there is a man whom they doubt!.Instead of actuating people, Hasina’s message spread scare among people. This, they believe, is likely to give Awami League leaders and workers to book political people who differ with them,’’ he said.
None believed Hasina and this scripts great disconnect with voters and people which likely to open up more avenues for the terrorists about whose profile the Government is in dark, feel observers. This fetches too great a pressure on Dhaka and would fetch a diplomatic compulsion to sign it all up with New Delhi though they also showed lack of speed and anticipation as far as Zakir Naik was concerned, feel a section of intellectuals in Dhaka.
