Top Court raps Zee News editors Sudhir Chaudhary and Samir Ahluwalia – asked to behave or face jail
NEW DELHIL The Supreme Court of India today cracked upon Zee News editors Sudhir Chaudhary and Samir Ahluwalia in a case of extortion amounting to 100 Crores from renowned industrialist Naveen Jindal.
The two editors are currently out on bail and had approached the court in order to get the consent cancelled signed during taking bail in the case. The court came down harsh and asked them either to follow the consent or face jail. Court has also asked both editors to give their replies within two days.
Sudhir Chaudhary and Ahluwalia, both were arrested in 2012 when Jindal’s firm complained that they had asked for an extortion amount of 100 crores in return of not airing negative news against the firm.
Sudhir Chaudhary who was awarded Y+ category security from the BJP government in 2015 probably in exchange of his favorable reporting against the BJP during general election of 2014. Prior to his conviction in extortion case on himself, Mr. Chaudhary was caught running a fake sting operation on a school teacher for supposedly running a sex racket, following which she was attacked by a mob.
The matter was taken to court and channel was found manufacturing the sting following which the channel was shut down.
It is alleged that the editor is hugely known to be biased towards BJP in his news contents.
His role in creating rumors during Kairana’s fake ‘exodus’ and the continuous running of the fabricated and doctored JNU videos which were highly controversial in the recent times.
