16 killed in suicide blast at Shabqadar session court in Pakistan
ISLAMABAD: In Pakistan, at least 16 people were killed and 26 others injured in a suicide blast in Session Courts Shabqadar of District Charsadda today. According to police, the killed include three police personnel, six women, five men and two children. The injured have been shifted to Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar. Five policemen are also among the injured.
Talking to newsmen, DIG Mardan Saeed Wazir said the suicide bomber was trying to enter the courts. However, police stopped him at the gate and later he blew himself up. AIG Bomb Disposal Squad Shafqat Malik said six to eight kilogram explosive was used in the blast.
President Mamnoon Hussain, Acting President Mian Raza Rabbani and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif have condemned the terrorist attack in Charsadda. They extended condolences to the victims’ families.
