Thunderstorm likely in Delhi, UP, Raj, 13 States On Storm Alert

1466597710-3237NEW DELHI :   In a fresh advisory, the Home Ministry quoting India Meteorological Department (IMD) said thunderstorm, along with rain, is likely in some places of Delhi and adjoining NCR on Sunday, while 13 states will be affected with the same, along with squall, hail on Monday.
Thunderstorms and rain is likely in at least 13 states and two union territories tomorrow, the Union Home Ministry (MHA)  has said in an advisory today. Schools in Haryana have been asked to remain closed over the next two days.
Heavy rain is very likely at isolated places in six northeastern states — Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura tomorrow, according to the Indian Meterological Department (IMD).
Parts of western UP Bihar, West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Karnataka and Kerala could see thunderstorms and gusty winds tomorrow, the weather department said in its warning.  Parts of Punjab,  southern Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala could experience thunderstorm and gusty winds on Tuesday.
The home ministry noted that 124 people were killed while more than 300 injured in five states due to thunderstorm and lightning in the last two days.
The maximum casualty was reported in UP (73) , Rajasthan (35), people were killed While eight people were killed in Telangana, six in Uttarakhand and two in Punjab. Nearly 100 people were injured in Telangana, Uttarakhand and Punjab.
Quoting an advisory of the India Meteorological Department, a Home Ministry spokesperson said thunderstorm and rain would occur over some places in Delhi and adjoining NCR, including Faridabad, Ballabhgarh, Khurja, Greater Noid, and Bulandshahr on Sunday.
UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who cut short his election campaign in Karnataka, took an aerial survey of Agra and  Kanpur yesterday, and visited the injured in hospital. Nearly 75 people were killed in last week’s storm in Uttar Praesh.Asked why state officials hadn’t taken similar steps when the dust storms ravaged parts of the state, Yogi Adityanath .
