Sheran brings Laurels to Khalsa College by winning Gold in World Shooting

khalsa_college759AMRITSAR : It was indeed a proud moment for Khalsa College when a student of Physical Education and Sports Department, Akhil Sheran brought laurels to the College by participating and winning gold medal in the World Shooting Championship, held at Mexico. Akhil was awarded with gold medal for his outstanding performance in India’s 50-meter rifle event.
The management and Principal of Khalsa College, Amritsar, Dr. Mahal Singh congratulated Sheran and appreciated his efforts in creating a history of its own kind for the College. While encouraging all other students to participate actively in academic as well as sports activities, Dr. Singh acclaimed of the state-of-the-art sports facilities provided at the College and its valuable contribution in the field of sports.
Khalsa College Governing Council honourary secretary RMS Chhina also congratulated Sheran for outstanding performance at the world event, saying he brought honour for the nation. Dr. Mehal Singh further informed that Akhil will participate in the World University Championship to be held at Malaysia later this month and wished him luck for the same.
On this occasion, HOD, Physical Education and Sports Department, Dr Daljit Singh proudly acclaimed that Sheran’s performance was par excellence in various national competitions. “He was declared the best performer at the All India Inter-University Competitions held at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar and Jaipur and had established new records by winning gold medals at these events.
