NDMC cuts off power supply of Ex. Union Minister Ajit Singh’s Delhi bungalow

AjitSingh-pti-new [1]NDMC has cut off the power supply of former aviation minister Ajit Singh’s 12, Tughlaq Road bungalow in Delhi, reports said on Saturday. NDMC took the step after Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) chief failed to vacate the official bungalow despite repeated eviction notices served to him.
The bungalow was allotted to him during his stint with the previous Congress-led UPA government. Earlier this week, a Delhi Police team had gone to Singh’s place to ask him to vacate it. However, they didn’t find the former union minister. Reports said that the officials had to face a stiff resistant from Singh’s supporters when they tried to enter the bungalow for eviction. According to rules, ministers should vacate the official bungalows if they lose elections.
The ex-civil aviation minister lost the Lok Sabha election Friday from Baghpat in Uttar Pradesh to BJP’s Satyapal Singh, a former Mumbai police commissioner. The 75-year-old Jat leader never lost an election since 1999 from Baghpat. BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi had campaigned in Baghpat. Interestingly, Satyapal Singh was once an officer on special duty to Ajit Singh, son of former prime minister Charan Singh.
