LS, Rajya Sabha adjourned till noon amid Opposition ruckus over mob lynching

610359-congress-12NEW DELHI : Both houses of Parliament were on Wednesday adjourned after members of the Opposition created a ruckus over farmers’ plight, spate of lynching incidents, communal clashes and Kashmir unrest. The members of the Opposition parties raised the issue of lynching in the name of cow protection and sought an explanation from the BJP government.
Replying to the Opposition charge, MoS Home Hansraj Ahir said, ” PM Modi had clearly warned that cow vigilantes not to take law in their hands. The Home Ministry also issued an advisory in this regard.””Dragging the BJP into this controversy is not right,” he added.

While speaking in Rajya Sabha, Janata Dal United Sharad Yadav said, ”Farmers are in bad shape in this country.”Farmers are protesting at the Jantar Mantar, what is the government doing for them?, Congress leader Digvijaya Singh said on his turn. As the din continued, the Rajya Sabha was adjourned till 12:30 pm. Lok Sabha was also adjourned till 12 noon after uproar by Opposition MPs.
Earlier, the Congress MPs staged a protest inside Parliament demanding a special package for flood-affected North-eastern states.
According to ANI, Congress MPs staged a protest in front of Gandhi statue at Parliament complex demanding special package for flood-hit north-eastern states. Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM) general secretary Sitaram Yechury had also issued a notice and called upon the Rajya Sabha to address the issue of “communal polarisation” and “attacks in the name of cow protection” in many parts of India.
The Lok Sabha was on Tuesday adjourned following an uproar by the Opposition. The Lower House was adjourned for the day on Monday too after an obituary to former members and victims of the Amarnath terror attack was given. The dastardly Amarnath terror attack was strongly condemned by the Lok Sabha MPs. The Monsoon Session of the Parliament will continue till August 11.

A united Opposition is also expected to raise the issues of China, Jammu and Kashmir and Darjeeling unrest and impact of Goods and Service Tax (GST). Apart from this, the Centre will introduce 16 new bills in both the houses of the Parliament for consideration and passing.

Ahead of the Monsoon Session, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing the floor of leaders of parties of the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha at the national capital, said that for preserving the institution of democracy in India, it is important that all political parties support the government to conduct business in both Houses of the Parliament without disruption and constructive discussion takes place on issues of national importance.
Prime Minister Modi further urged all parties to extend their support to the government in fighting corruption and the issue of communal violence in the name of cow protection.The Prime Minister also called upon all the parties to support the war against corruption, which has been initiated by the government. with Agency inputs
