Infosys may open office, create 300 jobs in Puerto Rico
PUERTO RICO : Puerto Rico’s Governor has said an India-based business consulting and information technology company expects to invest $9 million in the US territory.
Infosys, which is India’s second largest outsourcer, will open an office in the northwest coastal town of Aguadilla in a move expected to generate 300 jobs, Governor Alejandro Garcia Padilla said on Friday.
He said the company will provide services to the US defense and aerospace sectors.
Mr Garcia has made job creation a priority as the island of 3.67 million people battles a 14.7 per cent unemployment rate, the highest compared with any US state.
