Govt to consider OBC creamy layer cap to Rs 10 lakh: Athawale
NEW DELHI: Minister of State for Social Justice, Ramdas Athawale said, Government will consider to raise the creamy-layer cap for Other Backward Classes (OBC) to ten lakh rupees. Currently, the yearly creamy layer income limit of OBC is 6 lakh rupees.
Talking to reporters outside Parliament today, Mr Athawale said, there has been such demand and he will talk to Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the issue. He said, the incomes of the people are increasing and therefore his ministry will think over the demand. The hike will bring more well-heeled OBCs within the reservation net.
