Gadkari says not part of Maharashtra CM race, will stay in Delhi

Mamata-should-a35904 [1]NEW DELHI : Even as the BJP appeared set to form the government in Maharashtra, Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari denied that he was among the candidates to become the chief minister.“I am happy in Delhi and I like the work I am doing here. I have already said that I don’t want to go to Maharashtra,” Gadkari told reporters here.
Gadkari said the BJP parliamentary board will meet at 6 pm today to discuss the situation in Maharashtra. It may be noted that while the BJP has emerged as the single largest party in Maharashtra, it doesn’t appear to be winning majority and will require the support of an ally, most likely Shiv Sena, to form the government there.
Gadkari, meanwhile, congratulated the people for BJP’s success in Maharashtra and Haryana.“People are in favour of the wave of development brought on by Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” the minister stated.
