Coronavirus: Masks Compulsory For Those Stepping Out Of House In Delhi

nCoV-maskNEW DELHI : Delhi also declared that face masks will be compulsory for people stepping out of their homes after Maharashtra — including Mumbai — and Chandigarh made masks compulsory.
The decision was taken at an emergency meeting held at the Chief Minister’s residence, which was attended by Health minister Satyendra Jain and his officials. Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia was present at the meeting too. Delhi has reported 576 cases of corona virus — including nine people who died and 21 who recovered. No case has been reported over the last 24 hours.

Earlier this week, the Union government had asked people to use face masks when stepping out.”It is suggested that such people who are not suffering from medical conditions or having breathing difficulties may use the handmade reusable face cover, particularly when they step out of their house. This will help in protecting the community at large. ”
Meanwhile, The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) on Wednesday also made compulsory at also made all public places in India’s financial masks. The corporation has made it mandatory to wear masks while stepping out for whatever reasons — a home-made mask will be allowed as well.

All persons will be moving for whatsoever purpose and under whatever reason authority in public place, like street, hospital, office, markets must be wearing three-ply mask or cloth mask compulsorily,” an order issued by Mumbai Municipal Commissioner Praveen Pardeshi said.
Treatment will be given separately to asymptomatic patients, those showing mild symptoms and those with severe symptoms and other illnesses. These masks may be standard mask available with the chemist or even homemade washable masks and can be used after proper washing and disinfecting,” the commissioner said.

While the government is yet to decide whether to lift the 21-day lockdown that ends on April 15, Reuters reported quoting sources that the lockdown in Mumbai may be extended given the number of coronavirus cases that have been uncovered in the city.
