Congress becoming laughing club Says Narendra Modi

MODIHIMACHALKANGRA: Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused the Congress government in Himachal Pradesh of looting the state and said that people will show them the exit door in the assembly elections scheduled for next month.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Thursday, attacked the Congress for promising “zero tolerance” on corruption when its own chief minister was facing allegations of graft and said the state’s ruling party had become a “laughing club”.
Addressing a poll rally in Kangra, Modi said it was time to rid “Devbhoomi”, or the land of the gods as Himachal Pradesh is known, of monsters.”There are 5 monsters in Himachal Pradesh, which we need to get rid off — Mining mafia, forest mafia, drug mafia, tender mafia and transfer mafia,” he added.

PM Modi said that the Congress government has failed on a number of development parameters. “The Chief Minister is embroiled in corruption and yet, the Congress manifesto says there will be zero tolerance for corruption.
November 9 will give a chance to people to bid farewell to those who looted Himachal Pradesh,” he said. The Congress has been in power in the state under Virbhadra Singh since December of 2012.

Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, Modi said, was “out on bail” on graft charges. He asked the crowd whether it could digest the fact that such a chief minister had released the Congress manifesto promising to combat corruption.
“I feel the Congress has become a laughing club. It needs to introspect on why people are turning away from it across the country,” he added. The chief minister is himself out on bail…And he is out on bail on what charges? That of corruption. He is facing serious allegations,” Modi said.

Despite the charges, he added, Congress leaders came out before the media to release their manifesto, which says the Congress government will show zero tolerance on corruption.”Can you digest it?” he asked the crowd and added that even a small child from Himachal would not fall for it.
Interestingly, Congress has most crorepati candidates in the upcoming elections – according to an analysis by Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) into candidates’ affidavit. The same report also finds BJP leads in number of candidates with criminal charges against them. Himachal Pradesh goes to the polls on November 9.
On Tuesday, BJP president Amit Shah named former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal as the party’s chief ministerial candidate for the coming Assembly polls. Union Minister J.P. Nadda was seen as one of the contenders but Mr. Dhumal’s mass connect in the hill State seems to have tipped the scale in his favour.( With Agency Inputs ).
