Common Minimum Wage for workers to be ensured Says Labour Minister

HY13RAYAL4DATTATRE_1651370eHYDERABAD: Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya has said that the Common Minimum Wage for workers, even working in unorganized sectors, will be ensured across the country.

Laying foundation stone for a 100-bed hospital under the Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) at Ghoshamahal in Hyderabad on Saturday, the Minister said efforts are underway to introduce an amendment bill to the Minimum Wages Act during the present Parliament session.
Though the implementation of the Act willl be under the purview of state governments, Mr Dattatreya said an amendment bill will be brought to bring out a common minimum wage system in the country.
Mr Dattatreya also said all ESIC Hospitals will be upgraded in terms of infrastructure and facilities.The 100-bed ESIC hospital is being built with state of the art facilities in about 1.75 acres of land and expected to serve about 6 lakh population especially in old city of Hyderabad.
