“CM Arvind Kejriwal tests negative for Covid-19.

Arvind_kejriwal_1200_PTI_2NEW DELHI : Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday tested negative for the novel corona virus (COVID-19). He had developed a sore throat and mild fever on Sunday. The Aam Aadmi Party convener had isolated himself at his home.

The 51-year-old Delhi Chief Minister had on Sunday complained of fever and cancelled all of his meetings thereafter. Mr Kejriwal, who is also a diabetic, complained of fever on Sunday afternoon, leading to the cancellation of all his meetings thereafter. Politicians, cutting across party lines, had wished a speedy recovery to Kejriwal.

Delhi BJP president Adesh Kumar Gupta had on Monday telephoned Kejriwal and inquired about his well-being. “On hearing about Arvind Kejriwal feeling unwell, I spoke to him and asked about his well being. I pray to God for his speedy recovery,” he tweeted.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had also wished for his speedy recovery. “I have read several media reports on @ArvindKejriwal Ji going into self-quarantine because of symptoms of fever and sore throat. I wish for his speedy recovery & hope he joins back public service soon,” tweeted Banerjee. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also wished Kejriwal a speedy recovery.
Due to his poor health, Kejriwal did not attend the State Disaster Management Authority’s meeting, which held today. The agenda of the meeting was to deliberate on whether the corona virus has spread at the community level in the national capital. Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia chaired the meeting on behalf of the Delhi government.
“Corona cases are on the increase in Delhi. SDMA will meet to discuss the status of corona virus infection in the capital. If corona has reached the level of community dispersal in Delhi, then what will be the strategy to fight it? Some experts with all data have been called for the meeting tomorrow,” Sisodia had said on Monday.

“If the experts at the SDMA meeting decide that there has been community spread in Delhi, the whole strategy of fighting corona in Delhi will have to be changed,” he had added.
According to the Health Ministry, Delhi so far has recorded as many as 29,943 cases of COVID-19. Out of the total, 17712 are currently active in the capital and 11357 have been discharged/cured.A total of 874 have died in Delhi due to the lethal infection.
