HOWRAH (WB): At Medic over Dental Clinic, we understand the important role regular dental checkups play in ensuring optimal oral health. One of the main benefits of regular dental checkups is that they help prevent dental problems before they start. During a dental checkup, your dentist examines your teeth, gums and mouth to look for signs of decay, cavities and gum disease. They will also check for any abnormalities, such as lumps or bumps, which may indicate the presence of oral cancer.

If a problem is identified, your dentist will advise you on how to prevent further damage and recommend treatments to resolve the issue. By detecting and treating dental problems early, you can avoid more extensive and costly procedures later on.

Regular dental checkups also provide an opportunity for your dentist to educate you on the best ways to maintain optimal oral health. Your dentist advises you on proper brushing and flossing techniques and recommends products to use at home that will promote healthy teeth and gums. By educating patients about the importance of good oral hygiene practices, dentists can help prevent dental problems before they start.

According to dentists, teeth are an important part of our digestive system. They help in cutting, tearing and grinding food before swallowing it. To keep teeth healthy, visit the dentist regularly and practice good oral hygiene at home. On an average, a child has 20 deciduous teeth by the age of 3 years. Around the age of 6 to 7 years, the deciduous teeth start falling and permanent teeth start emerging. By about age 21, the average person has 32 permanent teeth, including the third molar (wisdom) teeth. All of our teeth play an important role, and it’s important to take proper care of them for normal chewing, biting, and tearing. There are four different types of teeth: incisors, canines, premolars, and molars.
Calcium is one of the most important minerals for healthy teeth because it helps strengthen your enamel. You may know that dairy products are a great source of calcium, but leafy greens, beans, and almonds are also a great source of calcium. Plaque builds up on teeth continuously night and day. After you brush your teeth, plaque begins to form on the surface of your teeth within about 24 hours. Plaque hardens and turns into tartar after about 72 hours. Since plaque can harbor bacteria that cause tooth decay, it should be removed by brushing and flossing every day.
According to Samudra Shastras, people who have 32 teeth are very lucky. Such people believe in truth and keep distance from lies. According to a legend, when Parashurama ji came to meet Lord Shiva, but Ganesh ji refused to meet Lord Shiva, Parashurama ji got angry and he broke one tooth of Ganesh ji with his axe. Since then Lord Ganesha is called Ekadanta. Ganapati Bappa is also known as Ekadanta God.
