KOLKATA : Aggressive Mamata Banerjee, experimenting Modi and dissenting economists, like Professor Amartya Sen see a hasty decision `ailing post-demonetisation economy.’

As for example, Nobel laureate Professor Sen told a few newsmen in Bholpur in Santiniketan this afternoon that the decision was not taken with a good homework – on what may happen  once it is executed.
He did not however elaborate today. Earlier he also criticized Modi for demonetization, like many did. Primarily former prime minister Dr Manmohan Singh who called this a financial operation as `planned…loot and organized plunder.’

Many global economists, like Forbes Editor other day censured Modi over the outcome of his measure and his critics see that Indian economy would slog back with GDP taking a major hit and overall slowdown, including job market, becoming a victim would spread a financial gloom.
Modi’s talks about going digital again only created pangs with huge rural population, they might know when it was time to rain, but would get into a `mess in digital banking a bolt from the blue.

Apparently, TMC leader and Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee who is also keeping a keen watch on post-demonetisation developments, hit out at Prime Minister with all vitriols, like, “he’s behaving like a sales man of a Chinese company Jack Ma firm, Paytm black listed during Brics Summit even by US. Doing this he may put the data and nation’s important information into unsafe hands and jeopardy.’’

It may be the worst allegation `(allegations are not always proved but spread like wild fire, points a university professor).’Perhaps this happens to be most vitriolic attack on Modi. But as if it wasn’t enough, in a tweet she sarcastically called Modi that he should either step down or correct his mistake.

She blamed Modi for economic slowdown, (incidentally, lakhs of Biree workers in Bengal lost their jobs, including a jute factory closing down and again lakhs went to roads) and GDP sliding down, like Manmohan said. And she mixed it with a flair this time, saying that Modi should quit over `cheating people’ and `let someone else from BJP take over as PM.’’

Don’t treat people like beggars, they would go to ATMs and get money they would like to have now your deadline is over or admit that you have taken their financial rights,’’ said Mamata Banerjee

However, in the political hurly burly people are losing out, there isn’t any doubt that inflation isn’t down like it happened during post-demonetisation that Morarji Desai carried out 38 years back as “Rs 1000 currencies did not become so cheap then as to travel in to everyone’s pocket – whether he has been a black marketers or a simple common man,’’ points an economist, adding, “we had a more mature man in Morarji.’’

Observers see Modi’s party here which is silent on Mamata and faceless, the demonetization issue and increase in State Government Employees DA and of course an experimenting Modi gave incidentally and importantly enough room to Mamata to escape major Bengal issues over which she had to work harder still to look for clues to solve them.
