d_625x300_61413375664JAIPUR: The man, who lost his little daughter when his car collided with BJP MP Hema Malini’s Mercedes in Rajasthan on July 02, on Wednesday advised the veteran actress to think before speaking. His reaction came hours after Malini, 66, took to the social media to blame her car’s accident on the father of the child who was killed in the smash-up.
Talking to a news agency , the man wondered how was it his fault. “There is no other way to go on that road. I even switched on the indicators of my vehicle”, he said.He further said that Hema Malini is a big shot but must at least think before speaking.
“Instead of blaming me she should understand that had my little girl been taken to hospital with Hema Malini, she could have been saved,” he added.Meanwhile, BK Gupta, the uncle of Shikha Khandelwal, mother of the child who was killed in the accident near Dausa on July 2, questioned Hema Malini.
Gupta told news agency IANS: “Why is Hema Malini after almost six days raising this topic, we don’t understand. Where was she for all these days? The accident happened on July 2. Why again this issue is being raised?”He also rebutted Hema’s claim that the accident between her speeding Mercedes and the family’s car occurred because the girl’s father didn’t follow traffic rules.”The car had given indicator and then turned. Our family members were driving correctly,” Gupta said.
Besides the girl’s death, four others, including Shikha Khandewal, in the other car were injured.Gupta said the actress was backtracking from her earlier statement.”Why is she backtracking, we don’t know,” he said.On her Twitter page, the BJP MP from Mathura expressed her condolences to the family whose car was smashed by the “Dream Girl” star’s Mercedes, but said the accident could have been averted if the girl’s father “had followed traffic rules”.
“How I wish the girl’s father had followed the traffic rules – thn this accident could have been averted & the lil one’s life safe,” tweeted the 66-year-old actress.”My heart goes out to the child who unnecessarily lost her life and the family members who have been injured in the accident,” she tweeted.
The “Sholay” actress also said that she was “touched” and “overwhelmed” by the messages she got from all her well-wishers across the country.”I’m touched & overwhelmed by the many msgs & calls frm well wishers in India & frm the world over. I thank each one of u frm the bottom of,” she said.
Hema Malini was injured near Dausa, over 50 km from Jaipur, when her Mercedes smashed into another car turning into a side road, leaving the girl child in that vehicle dead and three others injured.
