PM should order Central ED Probe into Suleman Land Grab in Goa – Girish

PANJIM (GOA): AICC CWC invitee in-charge of Tamil Nadu & Pondicherry, Girish Chodankar, has demanded an urgent Central Enforcement Directorate (ED) investigation into the massive land grab involving Suleman Khan and top BJP leaders in Goa. He said that 17 illegal land grabs are linked to various powerful leaders of the ruling BJP, exposing large-scale corruption and a deep-rooted nexus within the state government. Suleman has named some individuals, and more names are expected to surface.
Chodankar strongly criticized the ongoing SIT investigation by the Goa BJP government, calling it a farce and an eyewash designed to shield the real culprits. Suleman Khan, the prime accused, holds crucial details about top BJP leaders involved in this land scam, yet the state government has failed to act transparently. He further questioned the BJP’s silence on around 17 illegal land grabs by various BJP leaders, urging the Prime Minister to take decisive action. “This is not just a case of land grab—it is a betrayal of the people of Goa. We will not allow BJP leaders to loot Goa’s land while the government turns a blind eye,” he added.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi used the slogan ‘Na khaunga, na khane dunga’ for his political gain only, but today, his own party leaders are knee-deep in corruption. If the PM is serious about his words, he must order a Central ED probe immediately. The Goa BJP government is complicit, making a state-level inquiry meaningless,” said Chodankar. He also questioned how the accused can investigate their own scam.
Meanwhile, Goa Congress President Amit Patkar has accused the BJP of facilitating land and real estate mafias, involving government officials in a widespread land grabbing scheme across Goa. He has called on the Chief Secretary, Puneet Kumar Goel, to provide clarification on the illegal conversion of paddy field property by TCP Minister Vishwajit Rane. Patkar demands that Goel either address the issue promptly or step down. He further questioned whether Governor P.S. Sreedharan Pillai will intervene or remain a silent observer.

The Congress party has demanded immediate intervention by the Prime Minister and a Central ED probe, insisting that a list of over 17 illegal land grabs involving BJP leaders must be made public and that strict legal action must be taken against all those involved, regardless of political affiliation. “We dare @PMOIndia to act! The people of Goa will not remain silent while their land is looted. If Modi’s government fails to initiate an independent probe, it will prove that his anti-corruption claims are hollow,” Chodankar warned.
The Congress party will continue to expose this massive corruption and fight for justice for the people of Goa.
